When the Junior League of Boston flings open the doors for the 45th Anniversary Show House in Newton, Massachussetts, The Global Design Post will be there to cover it!

We are very proud and excited to be a media sponsor for this fantastic event, where twenty-one of Boston's best interior designers (with a landscape designer and muralist, included) will be working their magic in the historic Nathaniel Allen House. The beautiful Greek Revival will be transformed at the hands of these creatives, for the ultimate "Before & After". Each is given their own area and free rein to share their vision . No other event can reveal the style or tell the story of local tastes, trends, and sensibilities like a show house.

We included a couple of "before" images below, to peak your curiosity as to how they will update and reimagine each room, and pay homage to the deep, important history.

If you are anywhere near the Boston area through the month of May, be sure to come and enjoy this celebration of this magnificent city through top-notch interior design. In anticipation of what you will see, take some time to look through the designer's websites (below) to get to know their distinctive styles.

For those who can't make it, we will be posting the "after" images of each fabulous room, after we get them!

(Celebrating the 45th Anniversary of Show House, the Junior League of Boston will host the 2016 Decorators’ Show House at the 1854 Nathaniel Allen House in Newton, Massachusetts. This premier design event will be held May 7, 2016 through June 5, 2016 and will feature the creative talents of the Boston area’s finest designers.

Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, the Nathaniel Allen House was the site of the earliest co-educational school in the country and was a stop on the Underground Railroad. Owned by the Newton Cultural Alliance (NCA) since 2012, the property will support small and medium sized performances and cultural events.
The proceeds from Show House will support the mission of the JL Boston, and the NCA will be the benefactors of the designers’ wonderful work.)
